Sometimes Love Means Letting Go — We're Here to Help

Life is complicated, and we understand that circumstances change. If you're facing a situation where you can no longer care for your Korean Jindo or Korean rescue dog, Jindo Love Rescue may be able to help — with compassion, without judgment.

Who We Can Help

Jindo Love Rescue primarily accepts owner surrenders of Korean Jindos, Korean Village Dogs (Nureongi), and other Korean rescue breeds — particularly dogs that were originally adopted through our program or a similar Korean rescue organization. We know that surrendering a dog is one of the hardest decisions a person can make, and we will never shame you for reaching out. Life circumstances such as housing changes, illness, financial hardship, a new baby, or an unexpected behavioral challenge can make rehoming necessary, and we'd rather hear from you than have a dog end up in a situation with no safety net.

Because we are an entirely volunteer-run organization with limited foster capacity, we are not always able to accept every surrender request immediately. Priority is given to dogs in urgent or unsafe situations. If you have a Jindo or Korean rescue dog of another breed, please still reach out — we will do our best to connect you with appropriate resources even if we cannot take direct placement at this time.

Before You Surrender — Support Resources Worth Exploring

Rehoming is sometimes the right answer, but it isn't always the only one. Many behavioral challenges that feel overwhelming in the moment — leash reactivity, separation anxiety, fear-based aggression — can improve significantly with the right guidance. Before making a final decision, we encourage you to explore the resources below. A good trainer who understands primitive and independent breeds like the Korean Jindo can make a profound difference.

Jindo-Specific Behavior Help: Connect with Jindo owners and trainers in dedicated Facebook communities such as 'Jindo Dog Owners' for breed-specific advice and support.
Certified Professional Dog Trainers: Search for a certified, force-free trainer in your area through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) at ccpdt.org.
Fear Free & Separation Anxiety Support: The IAABC (iaabc.org) lists specialists in separation anxiety and fear-based behavior.
Low-Cost Veterinary Care: If a medical issue may be contributing to behavioral changes, organizations like the Humane Society offer low-cost vet clinic directories.
Temporary Financial Assistance: Brown Dog Foundation (browndogfoundation.org) and The Pet Fund (thepetfund.com) offer grants for owners facing unexpected veterinary costs.

We believe every dog deserves a chance, and we are rooting for you and your dog to find a path forward — whatever that looks like.
